Candidate Petition
Friends,
There are two ways for a candidate to qualify to be placed on the ballot for the primary election. One way is for the candidate to buy his way on the ballot by paying a large fee (about $10,000.00). The second way is for the candidate to collect 4,317 signatures from registered voters who live in the 8th Congressional district.
I prefer to be endorsed by you through the petition method. I do not believe that candidates should be bought by special interest money.
There are two requirements that you need to meet for your signed petition to be valid:
- You must be a registered voter, regardless of party affiliation.
- You must be registered in the 8th Congressional district. You can find this information on your voter registration card.
If you meet these two requirements, I would appreciate your help in qualifying for the primary election by petition.
